Universal socks, pillows, and booms may be filled with non-polypropylene post-industrial waste, which can degrade when exposed to caustic chemicals, such as acids, alkalis, and other aggressive chemicals.
Anchor Mat LLC does not recommend disposal methods. Consult with your local, state, and federal authorities, as well as licensed/reputable waste disposal companies for specific options. With that said, there are various methods for disposal, including landfill, incineration, and recycling/reuse (centrifuge, washing, and and/or wringing).
booms (white oil-select)
Medium duty booms are encased in a poly sleeve and a poly net, with a rope running the length of each boom (for stability when taut). Booms are filled with chopped meltblown polypropylene scrap material. They link together with o-rings and snap hooks, forming an absorbing barrier. Use this boom on still or slow moving water. Pads and rolls are used to absorb hydrocarbons on the interior portion of the spill.
