Crop Coverings

Crop Protection

Fiberweb crop coverings provide needed frost and freeze protection for vegetables, nursery stock, strawberries, foliage, citrus, containerized ornaments, and turf. They protect plants from wind break, overwintering, and they enhance crop yield. Our coverings also establish turf and golf greens, speed up germination, allow water to pass through and irrigate, and control erosion.

When we near the end of farming/gardening season, and initial frost is pending, setting forth a plan to protect our crops for the winter and extend the harvest should be at the forefront of our minds. As a matter of fact, better logic calls for stocking frost prevention supplies ahead of time. Preparing for the worst is always the best plan. Crop covers can help plants continue producing and allow us to harvest plants like kale, spinach, and lettuce throughout the fall and even into the winter.

Crop coverings increase temperature underneath the covers to increase plant life longevity. As temperatures begin dipping overnight, it is the time to cover crops. They also protect plants from hungry critters after other sources of food have frozen.
