OIL-ONLY SORBENTS
motor oil | gasoline | diesel | kerosene | fuel oil | propyl alcohol | octane | transformer oil | styrene | .... more
Oil-only absorbent products are mostly used to clean up oil spills on water, but they are also used in manufacturing facilities for everyday maintenance applications. They absorb hydrocarbon-based fluids and repel water. The configurations are pads, rolls, booms, socks, cushions, and drum tops. Oil only pads (oil absorbent mats) are the most popular configuration in this product grouping. Oil only rolls are also common. Choose the sorbent that best suits your needs.
oil spill pads (single layer)
Standard meltblown polypropylene sorbents are great for absorbing hydrocarbon-based fluids off of the surface of water. The open fiber construction quickly draws oil into the lofty meltblown web. Oil spill pads are commonly used in conjunction with booms, rolls, and sweeps.
bonded pads (single layer)
Point bonded meltblown polypropylene sorbents have an open fiber construction that draws in high viscosity fluids. Bond points tie down loose fibers. Bonded pads are great for both environmental spill clean-up and for maintenance applications to absorb hydrocarbon-based fluids.
sm pads (two-ply composite)
Spunbond/Meltblown polypropylene composite is a dual-textured product. The spunbond polypropylene side is durable, abrasion-resistant, and great for wiping. The meltblown polypropylene side has an open fiber construction for absorbing viscous fluids. Use SM for both oil spill applications and for MRO applications.
sms pads (three-ply composite)
Spunbond polypropylene membranes are smooth, durable, and abrasion-resistant. They withstand wear and tear, and they are great for wiping down greasy tools and equipment. The lofty meltblown polypropylene center layer is highly absorbent and wicks up hydrocarbon-based fluids quickly.

oil spill rolls (single layer)
Standard meltblown polypropylene rolls are typically unrolled along shorelines to prevent soil contamination in the event that spilled hydrocarbon-based fluids wash ashore. The open fiber construction quickly wicks up oil, diesel, gasoline, etc, and repels water. Use rolls in conjunction with pads, booms, and sweeps.
bonded rolls (single layer)
Bonded meltblown polypropylene sorbents have an open fiber construction that draws in viscous fluids. Bond points tie down loose fibers to alleviate linting. Unroll them along shorelines to prevent hydrocarbon soil contamination, or sections can be torn off at perforations for MRO applications.
fmf rolls (three-ply composite)
Fine fiber polypropylene composites have microfiber membranes that are soft like tissue paper and tend to grip many surfaces when saturated. They are highly absorbent, absorb quickly, and remove the sheen from your floors. FMF is our highest quality oil-only composite.

rr track mat (three-ply composite)
Use impermeable-backed railroad track mats when refueling locomotives, at ready-station sites, and when greasing rails. The top layer (black) is UV-resistant, the center layer is highly absorbent, and the bottom layer (clear film) prevents diesel fuel, oil, and other hydrocarbons from contaminating / leeching into the soil and ballast.
booms (mb pp filler)
Booms are encased in a poly sleeve and a poly net, with a rope running the length of each boom (for stability when taut). They link together, forming an absorbing barrier. Use light duty booms on still or slow moving water, or use heavy duty booms on moving water and light currents.
